How to remove carburetor in a 2006 yz250f?

i just got a 2006 yz250f. the guy i got it from let it sit for a while and i think the carburetor is all gummed-up. what do i have to do to remove it? could i put some sort of carb cleaner in the gas tank to let it run through?
