I am very confused with this case. My very own mother, who is a drug addict and has many mental health issues such as Bipolar Disorder, Manic Depression, Schizophrenia with Psychotic Episodes as well as does the man that she married 2 years ago that she met in a Psychiatric Hospital and only knew for 3 weeks before she married him, took custody of my girls from me. My ex husband stabbed me 4 times in the face and neck 2 days after Christmas and left me for dead. Luckily I survived. I took my girls and went to live with my mom because I had no where else to go and she told me she was going to help me. I was having a very hard time sleeping at night because of the nightmares and I was having panic attacks. My mom started giving me xanax to help me sleep and stay calm. Out of nowhere, my mom went to the DHS and made up a bunch of lies and told them I was all strung out on drugs which was not true. I asked for a drug test and they refused to give me one. When we went to court, the judge would not even let me speak the first word or defend myself. I didn't have an attorney. I had no clue that she had made up so many horrible lies on me and all the while she was on drugs herself. My mom was issued temporary emergency custody of my girls. I was ordered to do a drug program. I had a full time job and I asked if I could do outpatient and I was told no. When I finally got the court order 6 months later, it said impatient was preferred not ordered. So I couldn't complete an impatient program because I had a home, a car, and I still financially supported my girls. The company I worked for went out of business in May and I immediately began a new job. That job ended in September and I immediately began another job. When I went back to court in October, my mother gave custody to my ex husbands great grandmother and great aunt. They ordered me to have no contact with my girls and I dint understand why. In court, they jumped my case saying I should have done outpatient and I tried to explain to the judge that I called and asked my caseworker and she told me that it was unacceptable. Its a messed up court system. I wasn't even allowed to speak in court. I tried to speak one time and I was told that if I spoke again I would be held in contempt of court. So all I could do was remain quiet while my so called mother sat right beside me and lied on me. The judge told me I had to quit my job and the only thing I was to do now was go to rehab. Well, I quit my job. I am on a waiting list to get into a rehab that I found that would take me without insurance. I have at least 4 more weeks left on the waiting list. I go to court in March and I know his family is going to fight me for full custody. I dint know what to do. I am by far not a bad mom. I have never so much as ed my kids ever. I have taken care of them by myself while being in a very abusive relationship with their father. I ha vent spoken to or seen my girls in 2 months today and Im about to lose my mind. My girls love their Mommy and they cry to be with me. They carried them out of the courtroom crying that they want their Mommy and they love their Mommy and she is not a bad person. Its killing me to know that they want me so bad and I cant do anything about it. No one has even explained to my babies why Im not there. They have no clue what is going on. Its so unfair!!!!!! I don't understand how this could happen when they had no evidence against me. All they had was my moms word and she is legally crazy!! I cant afford an attorney now because the judge ordered me to quit my job till I go to rehab. I need an attorney to represent me in court in March or I could possibly lose custody of my girls for good and for no reason at all. Can anyone help me with this situation?? All I want is my babies back so we can go back to being a family like we were before my husband tried to kill me. I love my babies with all of my heart and would never put them in harms way and they will tell you that themselves. What do I do before I do lose my mind??

Ear pain two weeks after wisdom teeth oral surgery ?

I had oral surgery for 4 bony impacted wisdom teeth a fortnight ago . My right side heeled perfectly but i still have slight swelling / inflammation on my left side n dull constant pain . Since day 10 i have been getting up with pain in left ear which manifests itself at 3 am daily . So i saw my dentist yesterday he said im healing slowly but fine n he put me on a fresh course of antibiotics and painkillers (i donot have any dry socket n infection). My dentist said its related coz all nerves are connected and it could be becoz of that. My Q is why am i getting ear ache on day 10 when i had none even right after the surgery. He had no answer and just told me to continue with the medication to be on the safer side. Without painkiller i can hardly function in the day due to pain in my left cheek very near to my ear. Im able to open my jaw fully n chew properly . Should i see an ENT specialist now for my ear ache? Did some nerve get damaged during the surgery n my dentist is not telling.

The only thing your parents can do is build a "no smoking" clause into their lease. They have to wait til they renew their lease, or put a legal addendum to the lease. They would have to provide guidelines, such as "no smoking within 50 feet of the property including porches, balconies, and parking areas"...If the tenants break this clause, your parents would have the legal right to evict them. Or, maybe it would be just enough of a pain in the for them that they'd see the new rule and move out because of it. Anything else that you or your parents do to try to push out the tenants is illegal. Sorry for your situation...I used to be a smoker myself, and now I can't stand the smell and I absolutely freak out when someone smokes around my baby. Hope this helps. Good luck.

4 month old belly sleeping?

My daughter is now 4 moths old, and just recently I discovered that she sleeps much better on her belly. I was wondering if it was safe? I've heard the spew about SIDS, babies that die on their bellies is due to suffocation, SIDS in completely unexplained, so I have the blanket no wear near her face, she hasn't gotten down the coordination yet to roll over, however she can push herself up with her arms about 90 degrees and turns her head very easily while on her stomach. Her muscles are at a 5 month development level, she has great control over her head and back. I was put on my belly as a baby and so were many others I know, I heard that if a baby can roll over OR push themselves up it's safe. Is there any reason I shouldn't?

If you had a check of Q. 100 the Bank couldn't give you cash with the excuse that the Central Bank of Guatemala had taken the old currency (the paper) to exchange it with a new one. Everyone started to freak out because no one had cash, only credit or debit cards could be used in a 3rd world country where plastic is not accepted in the majority of places. The crisis is still going on and what every person in Guatemala city (as myself) is asking: will I get my money back? Argentina had an economic crisis that begun with events like this. That is the purpose of my question: to find out if what happened last Christmas is the beginning of the end. I've been in the army 2 and a half years, one day upon going to SRP the woman at final out asks me about something that happened at basic training (note i've been to srp 4 times before this) I had to visit a psychiatrist because the drill sgt found me sleep walking numerous times and there was written doentation that for some reason was never brought up until now(it was on the computer) well now I'm stuck in a limbo seperated from my old platoon in rear d medical waiting for the word one what the army is going to do with me...the PA said the army should have discharged me from the spot in basic and it wasn't my fault so...if the army is going to discharge me do I still qualify for my montgomery GI bill and if so what kind of medical discharge am I looking at...(I paid the 120 dollars a month for a year for the gi bill and my service record is clean never received a negative counseling or article 15)

Yikes! She sounds like a nightmare. I have dealt with a horrid sister in law, who ended up leaving my brother because she was having an affair. Surprise, surprise! She showed her true colors. That said, as horrid as she was, I was still always nice to her face. And so should you be to yours. Be the bigger person by doing the same. But, I also lessened how much time I saw her. So do the same too. That way it's much easier to be nice. I really stopped seeing my brother as much as I would have liked. But it made it much easier to be nice to my SIL that way.

Is Canada a good place to live? does...?

I'm American but I grew up in Canada. It was great. A lot of what is said about Canadians is true. Generally the cites are clean and they really are very nice (most of them). Positives, health care, lower crime rate, basically all the things you normally hear. Negatives, IT GETS REALLY FREAKING COLD IN THE WINTER!! I know it sounds stupid but it's true. Also they have a higher unemployment rate then the states. There is much more of the good and the bad. As for where to live it really depends what you like. I'm a big city person. If I can't hear the traffic I can't sleep. So if that's your thing then stick to Vancouver, Montreal (if you speak at least a little french) or Toronto. But they also have many midsized and small towns if that's your thing. The nicest people live on the east coast. The biggest jerks live in Ontario.

I want to get a Second dog preferably a female german shepherd. I have a male GSD who is about 15months and extremely aggressive with other dogs while very friendly with humans. If people regularly clean their homes I don't see how it would be unsanitary enough to make an issue about it, but some people are messy/dirty so I guess that would make sense. I am American and sometimes I wear my shoes up to my bedroom when I get home and then change to slippers or flip-flops and other times like if it is raining I'd change into them downstairs so I didn't get any water or mud in the house, but if I was having guests over I would keep my shoes on as they are a part of the clothes I am wearing. If I entered someone else's house I think the polite thing to do is watch what they do and then follow what they do out of respect for how they run their home. I have had asian friends who say they take their shoes off every time they enter someone else's house out of respect for their friend or family's homes. What should i expect after spinal fusion?

I did the same thing! I used to feel so guilty and dirty about it because it was with my cousins and even my own younger sister. I was afraid that when I someday became a mom I was going to do that to my own children like I was some kind of pervert but apparently it's common because we're curious. There is nothing you can do about it now....anything you put on it the mom will lick off....so just watch it. You will be watching for signs of infection. Usually the mother's licking can actually help keep away infection. If you have to cut cords again. Get the puppy away from the mother so she cannot grab it. Avoiding the same situation.

Abdominal pains.. can anyone help?

Hi. Yesterday I woke up with pretty bad stomach pains in the middle of my belly. Then about midday it went to the left side of my lower abdomen. It hurt alot But today its been on the left side now its on the right. I only get the pains for about 30-40 seconds at a time. They've stopped for about 2 hours because i took 2 extra pain relief tablets. But i was pretty hungry about half an hour ago i was just about to eat and i had pain in the lower right again. Then i didnt feel like eating anymore. Theres a history of appendicitis in my family my mum my grandad my uncle and my brother all had their appendix out. But i dont think i have appendicitis as it was on the left. Could it just be stomach cramps or what? I am going to see a doctor if i still have the pains tomoro. But i was seeing what you guys thought it was. Please help :) x

Alright, last night I was trying to fall asleep. I have this technique that I do when I can't get to sleep to try and help. What I do is close my eyes and breathe deeply and relax everything, almost like I'm getting ready to astral project (if anybody's familiar with that term) but then I opened my eyes, still in this DEEP relaxed state to see all sorts of shadows and small flickering orbs moving around my room. Depends of what kind of gift your child has - just be strong and stand for your rights and rights of your child. My son has ADD but without hyperactivity ( he is hyper but not to the clinical point). School wanted to label him "retard" and close the case because his marks were low, but I insisted (for 4.5 years!) to run tests to prove them wrong and give him some therapy not pills to help him in later life. In grade 3 he could calculate discounts and taxes and run comparisons without calculator, but had problems with simple 2+3, he could describe with details any region in the world but could not write all that on the paper, would tutor other students but when asked any question - deer in the headlights. He could read since he was almost 4 and when he read out loud, he did not make any sense out of what he was reading but if read to himself - he knew exactly what he read. He was ridiculed by teachers and tounted by kids. But I told him: "If someone told you you have green hair, would you believr them? - he said : NO! -Why?- Because my hair is not green!" this way he knew his personal value and as he got to know himself ( good, bad and ugly) he was less concerned what others think of him and could stand up for himself with such rich and smart vocabulary ( surprised the heck out of teachers and grown-ups) that many people shout up in shame. Proffessional therapy helped as well - no pills ever needed!Explain to your son why he is special and show him how he can fight his own fights - quite often it is as simple as few words to discourage others to pick on him/her. And violence is never an answer - good friends are. My son befriended 5 good kids and they are a good group even 6 years later. Good luck

my 9yr old daughter was on the computer when she fell out of the chair and bumped her bottom, when she went to try to get up on her knees she said omg i cant see anything and hit the floor face first, she was squirming (kind of cunvulsing) around on her face on the floor and was unresponsive for about 10 seconds, i was screaming her name ( i was terrified) and when she came to she said she remembered everything up untill she fell on her face, we took her to a local hospital and the doctors said she didnt have a seizure but didnt do any kind of tests not even bloodwork and sent us home, but in my heart i believe she did have a seizure...shes never had one before but epilepsy does run in our family, so does that sound like a seizure? and what questions should i ask her doctor to be better prepared? and could the computer have played a part in what happened?

Ok, basically ever since I was very little my mom would cut my hair very short, like boy short. She also kind of encourages that I wear sporty/boy clothing, even though I don't listen to that and dress how I want. okay there is def going to be some breakage! so be ready, but what u need to do first is perm it. wait a week or 2.then bleach it and dye it.after that if u want to perm it again..wait another week or two.but make sure that inbetween u are using shampoo and conditioner for chemically treated hair and with some type of vitamins or nutritions for ur hair. try and keep it healthy. put serum in it (i would reccomend biosilk) before blowdries or str8nings too.hope to be some help. good luck. I would speak to her pediatrican again. The extra water when she was younger is a good fix for constipation. However, after 6 months of age, it is acceptiable for babies to have small amounts of juice (preferrably, this would be when a sippy cup is first introduced). Maybe instead of all the extra water now, a couple ounces of prune or pear juice a day would be a good option? If you are comfortable with the water only, perhaps making her bottle as instructed on the can, and giving her the "extra water" (10ml per scoop), seperatly as a few sips all throughout the day. So if she takes 3, 8oz (240ml) bottles a day, she should be getting an extra 4 oz of water per day (40ml X 3= 120ml = 4 ounces)....try just offering those 4 ounces of extra water seperatly in it's own bottle for her to just "sip" out of throughout the day. Or just break it up into 2, 2oz bottles of plain water (this is what I did with my son as an infant). My son was on soy formula and had bad constipation issues as well. I always made his formula as directed on the can, and then twice a day I would give him a 2 ounce bottle of plain water between his formula feedings. Best of luck.

I was recently diagnosed with sle. I had a positive ANA, and smooth muscle antibodies, but neg. anticugulant, anti-dna and negative lupus genetic test. My symtoms were hairloss for 2 yrs, on n off joint pain, sore eyes, occasional mouth ulcers, tiredness, and headaches.But absolutely no rash anywhere on my body. The reaumatologist said it was sle eventhough I had no rash. I thought it always caused a rash/sun sensitivity? I did feel alot better on the prednisone, which i took for a month, and the plaquanil which I still take. I am still hoping I do not have it, as I'm a young mom with lots of dreams. I'm confused? Convalidation Ceremony in Catholic Church...?

My husband is a non-practicing Methodist, I am Catholic, though I've not been to M since my mother ped away Christmas of '05. My husband and I dated from Valentine's Day in '06 and married May 30, 2008 with the Justice of the Peace at our local courthouse. I have read up on having a Convalidation ceremony, to restore my state of grace and to be able to participate in the Sacraments again. I am not a "cradle Catholic", at the same time, my mom, half-brother and I went through the RCIA cles and were baptized into the Church in 1996. When my mother ped away, that was the last time I went to Confession and received absolution, so I know I'll have to do that again, I have no problem with that because there are a lot of heavy burdens that I need lifted from my heart and soul. I was however scared to find out that my husband and I are considered "living in sin" and that it is a mortal sin. I know I will have to confess this to the priest, but am unsure how to bring it up? As far as the ceremony goes, I don't know how to go about doing it. We want our close family and friends there to witness it and share in the joy of making our marriage valid in the eyes of God and the Church. My husband, does not want to convert to Catholicism, that's why we married at the courthouse, because I was unaware of other options for us at the time. It wasn't until after we married that I found out that we could have gotten a dispensation or even still married in the Church without a M. My questions are mainly, what goes on with getting the Convalidation? I've read where we will have to fill out paperwork (marriage investigation, inquiry form or premarital doent) but I don't know what those are. I can easily get a copy of my Baptism record from my old parish, so again, no problem there. I guess what I would like to know is this; is it OK to have our family and friends there? Are we going to be saying vows again? Can we exchange our current rings, or do we have to have new ones? How would we word the invitations? And the reception would be small and very informal, like a BBQ or potluck type thing. There may be music as well. I'm just terribly confused about everything because I want to make things right and get back into the Church and my husband is very supportive of me wanting to do this, he doesn't mind having this ceremony and has even told me that he's willing to do anything to make me happy and put me at ease, spiritual-wise. Can anyone please help and explain what's right and wrong with having this kind of ceremony? And how to go about it?

So we just had another out break in my house of head lice the first time it was just my oldest. This time it was me and my almost 2 year old. Mostly, people who get into accidents like car accidents end up with a severe brain injury/damage but in my brother's case, he didn't get into an accident or any of that. He "fainted" all of us sudden and was discovered that he got a virus in his brain, which I don't know the cause yet. It was found out that his brain was "swollen" and filled with "water". Doctors purposely put his brain to sleep (it's been a week so far) so it can heal/recover and I want to know if this is a serious injury/damage or a minor one. Do most people heal/recover successfully from an induced coma? Will my brother restore normally?
