Why did the world hail Obama's nomination?

I live in Europe 6 months of the year: People over there and their governments are sick of an American administrations that thinks they can rule the world. For xample, the U.S. was trying to dictate France whom they could not do business with(Iran), they were trying to tell Germany the same thing and they did get refuted. Germans did not join the war in Iraq and only have a very limited force in Afghanistan(more of supplies than soldiers). Germans feel that the U.S. is using them as a bridge to the Middle East even though their constitution prohibits this(it prohibits the transfer of weapons on German soil but the U.S. is doing it anyway), and as you already know, the English felt that betrayed by the U.S. that they pulled their troops out of Iraq as soon as they got a new Prime Minister. So here comes our democratic candidate with the promise of showing more respect for the world and the promising aspect of more diplomacy instead of wars--so he is getting hailed. The Middle East itself is hopeful that Obama is the one who can establish peace between the various groups---and I actually do believe that Obama has that potential.....
