Rekindle an old flame, tell him I still love him, or let it be?

In hi schl, all but my best friend knew I liked him & vice versa. 7 yrs later, we discussed feelings. We dated seriously for sev mos, but his mom did not like me (or how much he liked me). I brk-up w/ him b/c we spent limtd time togthr, b/c he did not tell mom he liked me. Then, I met a man I later married (he became abusive -> I divorced him). I went to long-term psychoysis to discover why I ended up w/ an abusive man. I'm now a clin psych grad student, 10x better at relat skills. I went up 1000 mis to visit my ex-bf and some other mutual friends, and when we talked on the beach, so many feelgs arose. He has a gf now, but he took me out to lunch, we sat talkg on the beach all day, reminiscing. He said he'd regretted not tellg his mom abt me sooner (he did after the brk-up, before he knew I met husb) & he rlly enjyd our time tgthr. As we wlkd back, he held my hand for a long time. Throughout, we've been bst frds, he lives on his own now. I nvr trusted anyone like I trust him.
