Wanting to get an IVF surgery?

First off, please dont give me no ridiculous answers. Yes we're old enough. Yes we are financially stable. So please no funny answers. Me & my fiance has tried & tried to have a kid. We spent the last 3 years trying but with no success. So i did a little research and read about In vitro fertilisation pregnancies. My questions are how would i go about it? How much would it cost? What all needs to be done before we set out for it? And is it true that you can choose which gender you want the child to be? Thank you very much in advance.
